A student studying for a BA Honours degree in photography with the Open College of the Arts
will be holding a one-woman show at Bank Street Arts in Sheffield.
British-born professional photographer, Tanya Ahmed, who for the past 12 years has lived on East 100th Street in East Harlem, New York was inspired by the work of Magnum photographer Bruce Davidson who took photos of her block at the end of the 1960s. Tanya spent time shooting black and white images of the streets and interiors of her community for her most recent photography degree assessment and now these images form part of her new exhibition - 'I call this place home'.
'I call this place home' is at Bank Street Arts, 32-40 Bank Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S1 2DN from 5 – 16 June 2012. Visit Bank Street Arts
for more information.
