Tate ModernA controversial photograph of Brook Shields was removed by the Tate Modern after concerns were raised about it breaching child pornography laws.

Police visited the gallery yesterday and, according to reports, are waiting to see if the image is in breach of the Obscene Publications Act.

The photograph, taken by Richard Prince, shows Brook Shields naked and wearing make-up.

If the image had not been removed it would have gone on display today as part of the Pop Life: Art In A Material World exhibition.

Without seeing the image how can I possibly judge. But it seems another case of the "Nanny society" rearing its ugly head.
