Photostitcher automatically stitches overlapping images to create panoramics, and works horizontally and vertically. It is available to purchase for $19.99, with minor updates included for free.

Teorex PhotoStitcher Features

  • Performs fully automated alignment and stitching of images
  • Supports any arrangement of overlapping pictures taken from the same viewpoint
  • Simple and intuitive
  • Supports creation of 1D and 2D panoramas
  • Takes very little time and effort: a seamless panorama is stitched in one mouse click

Teorex PhotoStitcher Performance

When it works, the software does a fantastic job. We did find that it crashed occasionally and when it wasn't able to create a panorama, it gives an error warning, which requires the program to be closed and relaunched. It is a simple as selecting your shots and pressing the stitch button. You can then crop out any black areas of the image. The following example was taken on a Fujifilm FinePix SL300.

We also ran the same images through Photoshop CS5 and got the same result. Here are some further examples:

Headingley Carnegie Stadium - 7 images taken on an iPhone 4

Thoresby Hall - 6 images taken on a Fujifilm FinePix SL300

Teorex PhotoStitcher Verdict

If you have a recent version of Photoshop, you can acheive the same results and won't need any further software. Of course, if you haven't you might find it quite useful. When it works, the images tend to look excellent, we just found it crashed too often for our liking.
