Elton aborts exhibition - Sir Elton John has decided to put a premature end to the Nan Goldin exhibition after controversy over an image depicting two naked young girls.
The image, which depicts two naked young girls, was seized during the first day of the exhibition for potentially breaking child pornongraphy laws and was part of a collection of images owned by Sir Elton John.
Investigations are now under way but a decision has yet to be reached regarding the image. In the meantime, Elton has decided to close the exhibition, which was due to run until 20th January 2008, only nine days after it opened.
Jane Jackson, curator of the SirElton John Photography Collection said on the website that “It was always intended that the installation be exhibited as a whole, and not on a piecemeal basis, and our decision has been made with regard to the artistic integrity of the work and the artist."
