The Colour Collective win British Museum dealColour management specialists The Colour Collective have celebrated their first year in business by winning a major order for a full colour management solution from the British Museums Photography & Imaging Department.

The solution includes a complete suite of GretagMacbeth colour management software & hardware, plus on-site training and support. The department often photographs unique artefacts thousands of years old and so requires the very highest degrees of accuracy if an image is to be used for research or publication.

GretagMacbeth ProfileMaker 5 will be used to create ICC profiles for the departments Phase One digital camera backs, their scanners and their Epson inkjet printers. GretagMacbeth i1 Display will be used for monitor calibration and profiling. Once the solution is installed and the training is completed the department will be able to capture an image of an artefact, display that image accurately on screen and then output on the inkjets and be sure that the final print will closely match the original artefact.

The Colour Collectives Sales Director Tony Kirk said, We are obviously delighted to be working with a client such as the British Museum. We feel that it is a testament both to our expertise and to our open, customer centred approach to colour management.

The British Museums Photography & Imaging Manager Paul Gardner said of the deal, We spoke to many different colour management companies but felt that The Colour Collective listened to what we said and came up with a comprehensive and innovative training package that was tailored to our needs.

Formed by experienced colour management and pre-press professionals Rob Griffith and Tony Kirk, The Colour Collective Ltd. provides a range of products and services that are specifically designed to offer cost effective and scalable colour management solutions for every level of customer, from photographers, designers and advertising agencies to printers, repro houses and media groups.
