Press Release: Victor Habbick - The Dream Enclosure

February 2008 sees the first collection of work by ePHOTOzine member Victor Habbick, collected within the first volume of a book called The Dream Enclosure. The book covers areas such as first 10 years as a conceptual stock artist for The Science Photo Library. It also includes a biography, artwork and photography new and old. It also including a little insight into his working methods and practices.

Victor Habbick displays his enthusiasm for his craft as displayed in his many works covering such diverse areas such as technology and science to fantasy and the human condition.

Dr Gary Evans, Manager of Scientific Relations, Science Photo Library comments “None of us is a fortune-teller, indeed the future itself is not yet fixed. However, visionaries such as Victor Habbick use their knowledge and imagination to look beyond the immediate future to the possibilities that lie ahead in consequence of today’s technologies, and they can use their art and photography to show it to the rest of us".

With such a varied collection of work on display it was left to the assistance of Rose Taylor, Creative Director of The Science Photo Library to assist in the heavy chore of editing things down to a manageable level while retaining the essence of Victor’s enthusiasm for his profession throughout the years.

Victor says. "While publishing has gone through many changes over the years it still remains a costly exercise in its production but with the assistance of online self publishing companies it is now within the financial reach of anyone to give it a go. Admittedly after spending so many years in the past working as a studio manager in high quality printers in Glasgow my expectations were low on the outcome of this new print technology. I can safely say I have been delighted with the quality and will continue to use online self publishing to further my own book printing requirements.”

Victor has been a member of ePHOTOzine for five years - his portfolio can be viewed here. His book is available from online publishers Lulu via his website in three formats - digital PDF download, CD and full colour book.

Good luck with this Victor Smile

I've had a quick look and it's a very stylishly designed electronic book with some of Victor's best work, along with several how to's and some interesting dialogue. Would be well worth getting printed for those who are fans of Victor's work on our site.
