The Guild Of Photographers' 'Professional Photographer Of The Year' and overall 'Photographer Of The Year' is Phil Drinkwater.
Phil got into photography relatively late on at the age of 30 when he had a camera from his brother. He quickly progressed to become a highly sought after beauty, fashion and wedding photographer who has won numerous national awards including more coveted Guild Gold Bars in a year than anyone else to date.
The Guild's 'Wedding Photographer Of The Year' is Phil Evans who has had a keen interest in photography since his early teens. He is now a highly sought after wedding and portrait photographer with over 25 years experience.
Beverley Foster was the runner-up in both the Photographer Of The Year and Wedding Photographer Of The Year categories while Lesley Chalmers was the runner-up in the Professional Photographer Of The Year category.
Lesley Thirsk, Director of the Guild said: "To win they have had to consistently produce the highest standard of images throughout the course of a year and not just through one submission. The standard of the entries to the Guild were really high all year so to gain this recognition is an amazing achievement and very well deserved."
The Guild also awarded Neil van Niekerk 'Master Of The Craft'.
Lesley added: "It is really pleasing to award our first 'Master Of The Craft' accolade to a photographer from outside the UK and Ireland. Neil is an incredibly talented photographer and runs an amazing blog, clearly deserving of this recognition. We are very proud that he has also chosen to become involved in the Guild's activities and we hope that he will visit the UK in the not too distant future so he can demonstrate his techniques to UK photographers first hand."
