The Societies' Photographer Of The Year Awards - The Societies have announced the overall winners of their monthly image competition.

The winning image, by Paul Walker
Scottish pet photographer Paul Walker delighted over four hundred guests at The Societies’ Convention Awards Dinner in London (Saturday January 12 2013), by picking up the coveted Photographer of the Year 2012 title.
The judges commented, “This image captures the subject in a regal pose, set in a natural environment - a well composed image with beautiful tones.”
The competition is a truly international success with entrants from all four corners of the globe entering monthly.
In addition to receiving his trophy Paul also walked away with a VIP trip to The Societies’ 2014 Convention, set to take place in the Hilton London Metropole hotel in January next year (14-20 January 2014)
Paul commented, "Shocked, delighted, speechless, in that order. I'm going to buy the dog a juicy bone for at least paying attention for that split second - most have selective hearing!”
He continues, “Never in a million years did I expect my name to be read out as the ‘Overall Winner’ after witnessing some of the other images on screen, but I guess every dog has its day! Thank you also to the Judges for the time they invested in giving critiques and helping to raise the standards in the industry.”
