Solar strap - Charge your camera gear on the move.

Do you really hate it when your camera battery dies when you're out in the field? Well designer Weng Jie may have the answer to your problem.

The aptly named Solar Camera Strap features a row of solar films  which sit across the strap and use solar energy to charge your camera on the move.

It's only a concept at the moment but as we have solar panels in bags already, it may not be long until the eco-friendly strap is hitting the shelves.

On the face of it, it seems like a great idea, & I'm surprised nobody thought of it before...when battery life used to be a problem. I have the vertical battery grip for my camera, which takes 2 batteries, & since I can take around 1000 shots per battery, I'd have to get very enthusiastic to run both batteries down. I'd probably run out of memory cards first.
