Fujifilm today announced three additions to their best-selling FinePix range of digital cameras. The new models combine compact designs with prices that allow Fuji's award-winning digital camera range to reach an even wider audience.
Fujifilm FinePix 2600 Zoom
two-megapixel zoom camera for 330 provides the budget-conscious buyer with a
more affordable entry point to high-performance digital photography. The
ultra-compact body with its metallic silver finish and sliding lens cover houses
a two megapixel CCD (1600x1200 pixels) and 3x AF zoom lens. Features include
movie mode, Webcam function & manual overrides plus a full range of
accessories including Ni-MH batteries, a charger, software bundle and a 16Mb
'With a level of design, build quality and performance that you would usually expect to pay considerably more for, the FinePix 2600 Zoom is quite simply in a class of its own,' comments Michelle da Gama, Fujifilm's UK Digital Imaging Marketing Manager. 'This, together with the camera's keen pricing and included accessories mean the FinePix 2600 Zoom makes getting into high quality digital photography easier - and more affordable - than ever.'
A 1.8-inch colour LCD monitor is provided for taking photos and playing back results in addition to an optical viewfinder for longer battery life. Fuji claim the use of the latest power-saving technologies allows the FinePix 2600 Zoom to take up to 300 shots in standard use or 6000 VGA pictures to be taken in succession using the supplied and fully charged AA Ni-MH batteries.
The camera sports an autofocus Fujinon optical zoom lens that gives a 38-114mm, 35mm equivalent. The optical range can be extended with a digital zoom to give a total magnification of 7.5x (38-285mm in 35mm format). The fully automatic operation takes care of all shooting parameters, including focus, exposure and white balance, while AE compensation, manual white balance and AF/AE lock allow more experienced users some control.
In addition to high quality stills, the FinePix 2600 Zoom offers a 20-second movie mode and can be used as a Webcam when attached to a PC using the supplied USB cable and 'PictureHello' software.
