Time for this years competition -
The Times has launched their young photographer competition for the sixth year running.
It’s that time of year again when budding young photographers from all over the country line up their shots to compete for the coveted title; The Times Tabasco Young Photographer of the year award.
The winner, wins a 6 month paid contract as a photographer at The Times.
The competition, now in its sixth year, becomes increasingly more popular every year. Last year’s winner Christopher Pledger 24, (or The Tabasco Kid as he is now called), scored his first front page picture within weeks of starting his six months work, with a picture of Tony and Cherie Blair at the Labour Party conference.
The competition is open to all amateur photographers aged of 19 to 25, who have no national newspaper experience and who would be able to take up the placement at the beginning of August 2007
Each entry must consist of three different prints one for each of the following categories: Food and Entertainment, Action and Portraiture.
The closing dates for entries is midnight on Sunday April 15, 2007. For full details visit www.thetimes.co.uk.
