The results are in We can now reveal that Susannah Ireland is this year’s Times Tabasco Young Photographer of the Year. Susannah 24, originally from Kingston Upon Thames, studied photojournalism in Norton College, Sheffield.
This prestigious competition was developed six years ago to recognise and reward young talent. Entrants must submit three different prints/images each falling into the following categories: Action, Food and entertainment, portraiture, the winner – The Tabasco kid wins a six month paid placement at The Times as a photojournalist.
This year’s competition was as fierce as ever and Susannah had her work cut out when all the finalists were asked to gain entry into the Chelsea Flower show, seek out a bottle of Tabasco and photograph it as her final shot. Susannah sailed through and clearly impressed the judges with her efforts.
Susannah says of her prize; "I am over moon at having won such a prestigious award as it's a great opportunity to really learn from the best in the British photojournalism industry. I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into the job!"
