Wacom win TIPA award - Wacom's Intuos4 voted best digital accessory in Europe by TIPA.
Press Release:Wacom, the leading manufacturer of pen tablets, interactive pen displays and intuitive interface devices, today will receive a TIPA award at the awards ceremony in the Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg near Cologne, Germany. The Intuos4 – the new pen tablet system for professional digital content creators – has been voted the best digital accessory in Europe by the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA). This prestigious award was voted for at the TIPA general assembly in Budapest, where editors of the 25 member photography magazines from 10 European countries were in attendance.
Thomas Gerwers, Chairman of the TIPA Board, commented on the Intuos4, “We were really impressed with the advancement of Intuos4 over its predecessor. In particular, new features such as the tip sensor technology and the doubling of pressure levels make it an ideal product for working within photo applications, offering advanced control and precise results. We therefore believe that it is an important tool for the digital market including both enthusiasts and professionals alike.”
With its ergonomic design, the ultra-slim Intuos4 pen tablet is the ideal creative instrument for working with digital content. Its new reversible (ambidextrous) form puts all of the ExpressKeys in the ideal position for right-handed or left-handed users and the addition of small OLED-displays allow quick and easy checking. The Intuos4 Grip Pen features Wacom’s new proprietary tip sensor technology, offering users near-zero (one gramme) starting pressure for an even more natural feel, as well as delivering 2048 levels of pressure.
Intuos4 users will appreciate the significant upgrades to Wacom’s powerful, user-friendly driver software, including the introduction of precision mode and radial menus. In precision mode the mapping of the pen tip changes to a slow motion movement, enabling even more precise and accurate work. Radial menus enable users to quickly access preferred functions through a hierarchical menu display.
Intuos4 owners can choose from a range of software including Adobe, Autodesk and Corel. The Intuos4 is available in four sizes - small (Intuos4 S: £199.99), medium (Intuos4 M: £329.99), large (Intuos4 L: £429.99) and extra large (Intuos4 XL: £699.99). All prices include VAT.
TIPA, founded in 1991, as an independent, non-profit association of European photography and imaging magazines, the member magazines meet annually to vote for the best products in Europe, taking into account innovation, ergonomics, design, ease of use, efficiency and price/performance ratio.
