Designed specifically for APS-C digital SLRs, the new line-up of lenses include:

  • 16-50mm f/2.8 DX
With a large f/2.8 aperture right through the zoom range, this lens gives a 35mm equivalent angle-of-view of 24-75mm. The design is based on a 17-45 f/4 DX prototype unveiled last year, which was scrapped because customer feedback led them to believe that a larger aperture version was needed.
  • 50-135mm f/2.8 DX
Another new lens from Tokina which sports a constant f/2.8 aperture. On an APS-C digital camera this lens will give the equivalent of a 75-200mm lens on a 35mm camera, but in a compact package. The design for this lens is an improvement on the 60-120mm f/2.8 DX lens Tokina announced in 2002.
  • 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 DX Fisheye Zoom
An ultra-wide angle zoom lens for APS-C digital SLRs with no rectilinear correction. At 10mm the lens provides 180 diagonal angle-of view. Fisheye distortion remains uncorrected throughout the zoom range, opening new creative possibilities.
  • 17-135mm f/3.5-5.6 DX
A powerful 8x zoom designed to cover most popular photographic situations.

These lenses are expected to be available by Autumn this year.
