The Nikon D7100 DSLR offers a 24 megapixel APS-C sensor with no AA filter, along with a weather sealed body and an excellent 3.2 inch screen and great handling. The Nikon D7100 is available for £719 body only.
The Sony Alpha A77-II is one of the fastest shooting APS-C Digital SLR cameras available, with 12fps still leading the pack, although this is being matched very closely by the Panasonic Lumix GH4, which also shoots at 12fps. Everything else about the camera is also very quick with a quick switch on time, extremely quick focus and shutter response and the good ergonomics and design makes the Sony Alpha A77-II an enjoyable camera to use. The Sony Alpha A77 II is available for £849 body only.
The Nikon D5300 offers a 24 megapixel APS-C sensor without the AA filter, for improved image quality, along with built in Wi-Fi and GPS, and a large 3.2inch screen, making it an ideal travel Digital SLR. The D5300 is available for £739.
The Nikon D750 has a high resolution 3.2inch tilting screen, as well as impressive battery life, built in Wi-Fi, a more compact body and faster continuous shooting making this a very appealing camera. If you value the tilting screen and built in Wi-Fi, then the D750 could be worth the price premium over the Nikon D610. The Nikon D750 is available for £1799 body only.
The Nikon D3300 is one of our top choices for an entry level Digital SLR - it's an extremely capable Digital SLR and comes with a compact 18-55mm kit lens with VR (Vibration Reduction). The D3300 has a high-resolution 24 megapixel APS-C sensor, full HD video, and the camera produces excellent images with bright saturated colour and very good detail. The Nikon D3300 is available for £399 with lens.
The Nikon D4s is an incremental update to the Nikon D4, and adds a number of enhanced features, including quicker continuous shooting with AF/AE, increased speed ethernet, as well as improved video recording. Where there is the most noticeable improvement is in the increase in image quality and specifically noise performance. The Nikon D4s is available for £4100 body only.
The Panasonic Lumix TZ70 offers a 30x optical zoom lens, built-in Wi-Fi, a high-resolution electronic viewfinder as well as a lower resolution 12.1 megapixel sensor. Say what? Yes, a lower resolution sensor.
