The forthcoming British Professional Photography Awards weekend will feature
a host of top international photography speakers. Plus, there's good news for
those who are not involved in the Awards themselves, as they now have the opportunity
to purchase a weekend pass to attend just the seminars for only £35, plus
VAT, irrespective of whether or not they are members of the MPA or BIPP.
The new Awards are a collaboration between the Master Photographers Association
and the British Institute of Professional Photography and will take place at
the Hilton National Hotel, Coventry, 16-18 October.
This mega event is expected to attract 500 photographers over the course of
the weekend, so is going to be a superb networking opportunity, a fantastic
chance to meet the trade, as well as great fun.
Four speakers span the three days. On Saturday 16th Irish award winner and
current Overseas Master Photographer of the Year Gerry O'Leary FMPA FBIPP kicks
off the proceedings. This is followed by a presentation from digital album magufacturer
GraphiStudio, where complimentary cheese, ham and wine is provided. For those
staying for the evening, Camerasure Alliance is sponsoring a fun evening of
On Sunday 17th the morning speaker is Hossain Mahdavi AMPA ABIPP. 'Hoss' shoots
pictures with 'attitude' and he's best known for his creative slant on fashion-style
portraiture. Following the Awards lunch (invitation only) Piotr Kowalik FMPA
FBIPP shows delegates how he shoots his dramatic and emotionally-charged images.
Monday morning kicks off with Dutch style pioneer Henk Van Kooten FBIPP. Those
who have marvelled at his published work in the past will not be disappointed
when they meet the photographer in person.
The weekend seminar passes are also available to members of the MPA and BIPP
at a reduced rate of £25, plus VAT.
