Toshiba SD Cards

Toshiba has announced new SD memory cards that it claims offer the world's fastest data write speed.

The latest editions to its line up of Exceria memory cards are designed for users of high end digital cameras.

The Exceria Pro series will offer photographers a data write speed of 240MB/sec, while the Exceria series will write at 120MB/sec. They will both allow photographers to shoot still images continuously at high speed.

The new cards are the first in the line up to integrate a newly developed controller compliant with UHS II, and they achieve significantly higher data transfer speeds than earlier UHS I compliant cards.

The Exceria Pro cards with 240MB write speeds will be available in 16 and 32GB capacities and are to be released in October 2013. The Exceria cards with 120MB write speeds will be available in 32 and 64GB capacities from November 2013. Pricing is yet to be confirmed.
