This year's Travel Photographer of the Year awards (TPOTY) are now waiting for your entries.
The competition has four portfolio categories, two single-image categories, a new talent award and the Young Travel Photographer of the Year award. The person who'll be crowned the Travel Photographer of the Year 2011 will have to submit the best entries in two of the four portfolio categories.
This year's portfolio categories are:
- Natural Elements
- Cultures & Tradition
- Exotic
- Spirit of Adventure
The New Talent category, 'Diary of a Destination', requires entrants to tell a story in six images while the single-image category is all about capturing 'Wild Moments'. The beginners’ single image category is 'Work, Rest, Play' and the theme for the Young Travel Photographer of the Year award is 'Green'.
The full prize package will be announced in June but all winners will have their work displayed at the Royal Geographical Society next summer and the winning shots will also be showcased in the TPOTY book, Journey Four.
Entries for the 2011 TPOTY awards close on October 9th 2011. Entry fees start at £10 but Young TPOTY is free to enter. Visit the TPOTY website for more information.
