Press Release: Traxdata double sided DVD-R 8x

This equates to up to four hours of DVD quality video, 16 hours of VHS quality video, or more than 120 hours of MP3 audio, so users can utilise the double-sided disc to back-up or store their data files, software, corporate information, music, personal pictures or movies, on the most cost-effective media per gigabyte.

Double-sided discs are highly compatible with nearly all DVD drives and recorders as well as a majority of DVD-ROM, DVD video players, so there is no need for any extra hardware in order to begin using this media. Burn the disc in the same way as a normal DVD, except to burn the other side you simply flip the disc over as prompted.

This will enable businesses, and in particular those working from smaller offices or at home, to back-up their digital files in a more cost-efficient manner, whilst also saving on valuable physical storage space.

Jacob van der Hoeven, manager of commercial strategy, said: “The double-sided disc is ideal to meet the growing digital storage needs of today, whilst also allowing users to reduce the amount of physical storage space that they are currently occupying."

"We have found that users are continually demanding further storage capacity as the growing usage of digital content becomes more widespread. The high compatibility and ease of use should enable double sided media to be accessible to most.”

It is available from Traxdata in cake boxes of 25 today. Please refer to the Traxdata website for further information.

Great! Just what we all need, BUT no mention of shelf life once data has been written to them.....Sad

This could mean that when a disc degrades, You could loose twice as much.....So come on Traxdata.....How about some figures on the stored stability, This is more important than mere Megabytes of storage space.....Smile
