Press Release:

Photographer and trainer Mike Browne has teamed up with Four Star Spa Hotel Careys Manor and put together some two day photography breaks for two.

Open to complete beginners and the more experienced, a photography break includes One-to-One (and One-to-Two) photography tuition for two days, dinner bed and breakfast for two at Careys Manor - and use of their award winning £6m Thai Spa to relax in after a hard day’s photography.

Careys Manor and SenSpa is in the heart of the New Forest with its famous wild ponies, and yet it is only five miles from the Solent so photographers have both the sea and forest to practise and develop their skills in.

The hotel boasts three restaurants, The Manor, Blaireau’s Bistro and The Zen Garden - respectively featuring traditional English, French and Thai cuisine.

"The photography training is focused around the photographer(s)." Says Mike. "Basically I'm their resource to use as they wish. Some want to understand more about their cameras, others want to work with light and composition. So we can combine some theory with lots of practical hands on experience to help photographers get to the next level - whatever that may look like for them."

Mike Browne has been a full time photographer since 1993 and has won national awards from Kodak, Fuji and the Master Photographers Association. He’s tried and tested new products for Hasselblad and Kodak and writes for Digital SLR User magazine. With his TV producer / director partner Jayne Whitelock, Mike’s made films for Olympus, Pentax, Samsung, Sony and more.

Prices at £1295 the all inclusive photography break is for two people and double or twin rooms are available.

If your partner or spouse isn't into photography there's plenty to keep them entertained whilst you're out photographing. Careys Manor Health Club and Thai SenSpa facilities are included with open access to:
  • Hydrotherapy Pool
  • Herbal Sauna
  • Crystal Steam Room
  • Ice Room
  • Jacuzzi
  • Experience Showers - Tropical, sea and ice storm showers complete with thunder and lightning
  • Hammam Rooms
  • Tepidarium - a relaxation room with heated loungers
  • and more ...
Thai massage and beauty treatments can be booked separately at SenSpa reception.

There's also horse riding and cycling, the main line station at the opposite end of the village connects to the shops in Bournemouth and Southampton only fifteen minutes away. The historic coastal market town of Lymington is five miles away with ferry access to the isle of Wight.

For more details – please visit the Photography Break page on their website. Mike and Jayne are also offering Christmas discounts on their One-to-One and downloadable courses until midnight on 1st January.

Wow, that's one big chunk of cash for two days.
With no disrespect to Mike Browne, I am always sceptical of adverts like this where the emphasis over two days seems to be more about the hotel, its facilities and food.
Each to their own however!

If you take advantage of all the facilities the hotel has to offer it's not 'gonna leave a lot of time for photography :

Mind you seems like a nice part of the country, I may well take my 'van down there and re-vist WHF and the BWC on the way.
....no doubt do a week for £200 then take my wife to Majorca for 2 weeks with the other £1000.

aah retirement...it's such hard work.....Mike
