Two vacancies at ePHOTOzine - ePHOTOzine is looking for an admin assistant and an advertising sales executive who are not afraid of hard work, but can enjoy the rewards of helping develop a dynamic-forward thinking publishing company.

Admin Assistant Job
To provide a full secretarial and administrative service to the editorial, advertising and technical team. The ideal person should be self-motivated, able to adapt to new challenges and have good communication skills, using telephone and email. A good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and Windows operating system is a distinct advantage, although training can be given for the right person. The ideal candidate will also be able to grasp the necessary basic skills to use a range of programs such as Photoshop, DreamWeaver and Adobe InDesign.
The ideal candidate will have 5 Grade 'C' GCSEs or above, be computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel, have great attention to detail, work to tight deadlines, organise/prioritise work, deal sensitively with members of the public, work within a busy team environment, use initiative, communicate on all levels and have great interpersonal skills.
Reports to: Managing Director.
General office duties
- Use of a computer for word processing, databases and e-mail.
- Answer all incoming telephone calls dealing with reader/shop.
- Promote good customer care.
- Send, receive and read e-mails and process for the team.
- Organise mail and take to post room.
- Handle daily orders and liaise with customers and suppliers.
- Maintaining a filing and archiving system.
- Sending order confirmations and invoices to clients.
- Checking invoices etc for payment against agreed rates.
- Invoicing clients in a timely manner.
- Chasing late payments.
- Banking.
- Take notes at meetings and write up minutes with action points.
- Making appointments and keeping a diary.
- Travel arrangements national and international.
- Maintain general stationery, printed stationery and other sundry items to agreed stock levels.
- Editorial assistance.
Editorial duties
- Process editorial contributions
- Process press releases and upload to site
- Liaise with contributors
- Liaise with companies organise
- Liaise with manufactures to obtain product info.
- Contact and request products from manufacturers
- Take care of stock (both in and out).
Personal requirements
- Qualifications - GCSE standard of education or equivalent
- Computer literate and be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Minimum of one year clerical experience
- Precise attention to detail is vitally important
- Ability to monitor and develop systems
- Ability to organise and prioritise work
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to deal sensitively with members of the public
- Ability to work within a team setting
- Ability to use initiative when undertaking tasks
- Ability to communicate at all levels
- Ability to display a high degree of interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a flexible and adaptable way in a changing environment

Youll be responsible for achieving monthly targets by selling ad space to existing leads & cold calling, plus dealing with sales enquiries and other general duties.
The ideal candidate will be ambitious, organised, hungry to earn lots of money, not afraid to pick up the phone & talk to decision-makers, enjoy the challenge of objection-handling, realise you have weaknesses & be eager to turn them into strengths, view rejection as a learning tool & be totally self-motivated. This isnt a role for people needing constant supervision, although training will be given.
Photographic knowledge would be a distinct advantage, although not essential. Previous telesales experience is crucial, along with an excellent telephone manner & working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite/Outlook.

Salary
To be confirmed at interview stage.
Holiday entitlement: 20 working days per year of which three must be taken over the working days between Christmas and New Year, plus English statutory holidays, rising to 22 after 3 years service and 25 after 5 years service.
Notice period: There will be an initial six-month probationary period during which notice will be one week on either side. On successful completion of the probationary period notice will comply with necessary statutory requirements..
Working hours: Full time with a standard 37.5 hour week. Hours are flexible and can, for example, be agreed to fit in with the school day so start and finish times can be agreed with the manager. All staff are required to work core hours 10am - 3pm.
