Walk along South Bank to Westminster Bridge – be warned, no tripods along South Bank. South Bank is private property and CCTV will spot you and security will ask you to move on! You may get away with a monopod, though!
Low-Light and Night Mini-Workshop
Prepare for workshop: 3:30pm
Sunset: 3:54pm
Experience the special light before and after sunset. Low-light & Night Photography including Palace of Westminster & Big Ben, London Eye. The exterior lights on the Palace of Westminster come on around 15 minutes before sunset.
This is a great opportunity to get some special shots of London landmarks. You will need to take a tripod for the best low-light and night shots. For those of you willing to experiment, Ian and Ben will demonstrate some techniques to support your camera without the aid of our three-legged friend, along with exposure techniques to create a variety of special effects in camera.
Chimping Competiton & Finish: 5:00pm
If walk participants wish to participate, all they need to do is select what they consider to be their best shot of the day and display it on the screen of their digital camera. The walk leaders will then judge what they collectively consider to be the best shot and the winner will receive a Think Tank Photo Pixel Pocket Rocket media card storage wallet. There are no rules! The judges decision will be arbitrary.
Please contact Ian Pack by email if you intend participating, no later than 4th December 2009 as we will need to contact the authorities for clearance; we will be imaging in a secure area of London. For more information please visit the UK Photo Walks website.
