The International Photographic Council (IPC) has awarded its Sophie Smoliar Scholarship Photokina 2012 to a UK photographer.
The IPC/Sophie Smoliar Scholarship awards 1000 dollars to a European Student who majors in photo-imaging with outstanding achievement. It is presented bi-annually in connection with Photokina in Cologne.
This year’s recipient is Tim Hunt, a 23-year-old photo student at the University College Falmouth. He has been selected with the co-operation of Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP) and the prize ceremony will take place at Photokina Professionals Stage, Hall 4.1. Booth I-50 Thursday, 20 September 2012 at 15.30 - 16.30.
As a recent graduate from University College Falmouth in 2010, Mr. Hunt has a BA in Marine and Natural History Photography and goes on to study an MA in TV Production at the same University. He also studied photography at Stratford-Upon-Avon-College for two years, leaving with a triple merit.
