There have been over 800 entries to this year's Urban Photographer of the Year competition and you have until 4th December to ensure you have a chance of claiming 1st prize. You can submit upto 24 images, with prizes awarded for pictures taken during each hour of the day.

Press Release:

The CB Richard Ellis Urban Photographer of the Year competition is gaining momentum with some incredible shots being sent in from across the world. So far there have been over 800 entries, from Krakow to Lisbon, but it’s not too late to be part of the action.

It is a totally free competition for both amateurs and professionals, with nothing to lose and some great prizes to win.

Entries should be an interpretation of Cities at Work throughout the day and night. Entrants can submit up to 24 images, as there are prizes for submissions taken at each hour of the day. Last year the judges awarded Charles Garnett 1st prize for his entry, The Dinner Ladies, taken at 11am. Charles, a supply teacher from Glasgow, astutely noticed that these three women were responsible for keeping his students going throughout the day and so needed to be acknowledged as an essential part of urban life.

As the world’s largest property advisor, CB Richard Ellis is constantly looking to promote and celebrate urban, working life. How does your environment work for you? How do you work in your environment? What makes your city tick?

Prizes:
1st: A Photo Safari for two to Jordan, including accommodation and flights.
2nd: A course with renowned photographers, Yerbury Studios UK
3rd: Equipment from professional suppliers, Lastolite.

The hourly prizes range from photographic equipment and professional materials to photography association memberships and mentoring from the industry's top professionals. With high profile judges, a fun theme and such an accessible medium it’s an opportunity not to be missed. Chairing our panel of judges is Artist and Photographer Martin Grahame-Dunn, sitting next to him is our Chairman, Mike Strong, the Director of M&C Saatchi, Moray Maclennan, Sales Director of One Vision Imaging, Derek Poulston, architectural photographers Stefan Sonntag and Oliver Jackson, CBRE Urban Photographer of the Year 2008 – Charles Garnett, and Mike Strong - Chairman of CB Richard Ellis EMEA.
