USB 2.0 scanner from Canon is added to their flatbed range -
Canon launches its fastest scanner for advanced users - the CanoScan D1250U2F. This scanner features a USB 2.0 interface for maximum performance and transmission speeds, as well as outstanding 1200 dpi image quality for documents, photos and 35mm film. The D1250U2F incorporates a slim stylish design, coupled with great usability and a full range of software options.
The CanoScan D1250U2F is Canons first USB2.0 compatible flatbed scanner and offers outstanding scanning speeds. The USB 2.0 interface can handle an incredible 480Mb/sec, providing a fast image transfer rate from the scanner to the screen.

At 1200 x 2400 dpi, the D1250U2F provides excellent results and comes complete with a built-in 35mm film adapter unit (FAU), enabling the user to easily digitise 35mm films for high quality web or photo print output. The D1250U2F offers a high optical resolution which, when combined with an amazing 48 bit internal colour depth capability and 24 -bit colour output, Canon say ensures high image quality.
The D1250U2F colours and design makes it a stylish, slim accessory for the home or office. The clever, advanced Z-Lid makes the D1250U2F easy to use by incorporating a snap clasp that holds the lid flat for scanning single sheets but can also release to accommodate thick books and magazines.
The four EZ scanning buttons provide real one-touch scanning. It is possible to scan, copy and e-mail images with a single press of the appropriate EZ Button and a dedicated film/photo scanning button provides automatic scanning of 35mm films or photo prints.
The D1250U2F boasts a Multi-Photo mode for automatic identification, cropping and straightening of multiple images, as well as QARE (Quality Automatic Retouching and Enhancing) for dust and scratch correction on reflective prints. Canons automatic tone optimisation and advanced 1200dpi, 6-line hyper-CCD are designed to ensure the perfect scan.
The CanoScan D1250U2F comes complete with a full range of imaging software such as Adobe PhotoShop Elements, ScanGear CS-U, ScanGear Toolbox, PhotoRecord, ArcSoft PhotoBase and OmniPage OCR.
The D1250U2F supports Windows 98 (USB 1.1 only)/ME/2000/Pro/XP.
Availability and pricing
The D1250U2F ex will be available from 1st February 2002 for around 169. All CanoScan models come with a one year on-site warranty.
