Height of summer
'Height of summer' by Steve Crampton, the winning image.

The winner of the Vanguard March 'Flower' Photography competition has been announced.

Congratulations go to Steve Crampton, better known as CanonMan. Well done Steve, you win an Alta Pro 263 AGH tripod courtesy of Vanguard!

Steve's beautiful shot 'Height of summer' offers a different perspective on flower photography. The judges especially liked the clarity of the shot.

"It’s difficult to shoot flowers when they are outside and even a slight breeze can interrupt the focus. That combined with the photographer’s ability to focus crisply on so many of the flowers at one time  when they have such distance and depth between them (this can be difficult to do for more than two!) is worth rewarding", the judges said.

Well done to to all those shortlisted - there are a lot of you as the standard of entries was so high! Take a look at the shortlisted images here.
