The Beta version of Microsoft Vista SP1 is being put through its paces by a private test group.
Microsoft announced plans last month to release the first major Vista update in the early months of 2008. Now the Beta version of the Vista SP1 has been released for testing on a limited group of between 10,000 and 15,000 people.
One tester, Brandon Le Blanc has reported that the beta version offers better responsiveness, longer battery life and solves previous connectivity issues.
On its release next year, Vista SP1 will be distributed via Windows Update, their automatic update service.
