Voigtlander Bessa R2M Limited Edition now available

Press Release:
Robert White now has in stock the latest addition to the Voigtlander Bessa rangefinder range, the R2M. It is supplied as a limited edition with the brand new 50/2 collapsible Heliar Classic lens. In either black paint or silver finish. There will be 300 silver cameras and 700 black cameras… a respectably small number in this age of ever expanding limited editions.

But for the metering this is an entirely mechanical camera…effectively the R2a M bayonet camera body with a mechanical shutter. However the viewfinder display has been tweaked since the R2a and features 9 steps of exposure control over a –2 to +2 EV range displayed as an LED at the bottom of the finder. The viewfinder displays 35,50,75 and 90mm brightlines.

The new M bayonet 50/2 Heliar is an entirely new product from Voigtlander and is the only collapsible 50/2 lens available in Leica M fit. Built to the same high specification as the other lenses in the Voigtlander range, it features 1/2 stop clicks up to f11 and is designed to collapse safely into all of the Voigtlander rangefinder bodies, as well as the current Zeiss Ikon body. The 50/2 is supplied with it’s own bespoke parallel sided lens hood and accepts 39mm filters. There are currently no plans to make this lens available outside of these limited edition kits.

The R2M camera with 50/2 Heliar Classic is available from Robert White Photographic Ltd and other Voigtlander stockists in black or silver for £600 plus VAT.
