Voigtlander Lens 25mm f0.95, Version II

From Robert White:

Robert White, the exclusive UK importer for Voigtlander (Cosina) products are pleased to announce an updated version of the: Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f/0.95 Micro Four Thirds Lens. This long awaited revised version features a new aperture control mechanism which allows the user to choose between "clicked" and step-less operation; a desirable feature for video/movie makers, and already present on the 17.5 & 42.5mm versions of this lens.

Otherwise unchanged from the previous version, the Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f/0.95 II is a manual-focus lens with an optical formula of 11 elements in 8 groups and a 10-bladed iris diaphragm.

The new lens is now available from Robert White, priced at £660.00 incl Vat.

Voigtlander's new Nokton 25mm f/0.95 Version II Lens for Micro Four Thirds Cameras has an extraordinarily wide maximum aperture of f0.95 - more than a full stop faster than a very fast f/1.4. This lens is equivalent to a "normal" 50mm lens in 35mm format and is capable of producing extremely shallow depth of field at wide apertures - an effect not always easy to accomplish with small-sensor cameras like those in the Micro Four Thirds format.

This lens is manufactured by Cosina in Japan, and has very solid construction; with strictly manual focus and manual exposure, there's no electronic connection to the camera. The Nokton is an "old-school" traditional lens in the best sense and requires the same level of attention as manual-focus, manual-aperture lenses of the past, but the rewards are worth it:  there aren't many lenses like this for non-SLR cameras!

This is the fastest 50mm lens available for micro four thirds cameras. This superb lens has been used on cameras such as the Panasonic G up to broadcast quality video systems like the AF101.
