It is available from the Mac App Store for just £2.99.

The first thing to do is import your image. When you have imported you'll see thumbnails of all your images, you can adjust the size of them using the slider at the bottom. The rest of the tools are down the left hand side of the screen. This is where you can rename your images and resize them, you can set either the height or width.

The next option is to choose a logo that will be added to your image. Here we've chosen a transparent PNG, if you were to use a JPG you'd have a background to your logo as well. There are options to adjust the opacity, logo size and position. If you don't have a logo you can choose text instead, again you can adjust the opacity, size and position, with an ample amount of fonts to choose from. You can change the colour to anything you want, there are preset colours to choose from as well. The last watermark option is to add line, there are four options, with the options to change colour and opacity.

Our example below shows all three of the watermarking options used.

When you've finished adding your required watermarks, you need to convert, which is placed at the bottom right hand of the screen. You can select JPG, PNG, GIF or TIFF and use the slider to change the quality. Hit convert and it will process all the images you've uploaded.

When you close the program and open it again you have to go through the process of choosing your watermarks again - it would make life much easier if you could save presets to use in future.

Watermark FX Mac App Verdict

Watermark FX is a simple, easy to use app for the Mac which quickly watermarks your images. You can add text, logos or lines in a few steps. The app could be improved by allowing the saving of watermarks as presets so they can be used in the future with just one click, rather than choosing your preferred settings every time.
