Website for Women Photographers

Website for Women Photographers updateA website for professional women photographers throughout the world to promote their work has now been running for two years, hosting just over 70 photographers and is currently attracting over 4,000 hits per month. Graham Wainwright, who has been connected with the professional photographic trade for many years, developed the website.

Women photographers are being offered a page on the website, which enables them to include four images of their choice, 50 words of text, plus a portrait of themselves. If they have their own website, a link is provided. To have a page on the website, there is a small charge per year of £11.75 incl. vat and 15 Euro or $15 for overseas photographers.

The participating photographers also use the site to inform the public about any exhibitions of their work. There is a news, library and open forum section. There will soon be included a section offering for sale prints and books by the women. It is also hoped to include photographs by past women photographers.

The site is being sponsored by Hasselblad (UK) LTD, GW Associates,
Sigma UK Ltd, Moorland Photo Lab, Creative Advertising, Polaroid UK Ltd,
Nikon UK Ltd, Photography Monthly, The Flash Centre (PSC), JFI Solutions Ltd and Photon Beard Ltd. Fujifilm is offering the first 100 women photographers, who join the site, a free pack of 5 x 35mm or 120 film of their choice.

G.W is running this website as a non-profit making venture. Monies available after admin costs will be donated to a charity of the women photographers' choice.
