'Spring into Life' competition winners - Photographers to submit stunning images for International Garden Photographer of the Year.

International Garden Photographer of the Year.

The overall winner is Colin Varndell.

Winner Colin Varndell: "I was delighted with the news I had won the 'Spring Into Life' category of the competition. I am passionate about photographing gardens and trees, and feel that IGPOTY has been a brilliant platform for showing off the best photography in this field. I have enjoyed the challenge of entering, but more importantly the inspiration from the wonderful images of other entrants."

The overall winner receives a £500 cash prize and all the finalists will receive a copy of ‘International Garden Photographer of the Year Collection 03’ published by David and Charles.

All the finalists have been awarded points which will be taken through to the judging of the main competition, deadline 30th November 2010.

The ‘4 seasons’ competition is supported by Landscape Juice.

The third ‘4 Seasons’ competition is on the theme of ‘Insect Beauties’ with a closing date of August 31st. IGPOTY is looking for originality and images that reveal the secret life of micro-creatures in gardens from around the world. Everyone who enters goes automatically through to the main International Garden Photographer of the Year competition with a closing date of 30th November 2010.

Be inspired by the work of some of the very best garden photographers at Alnwick Garden.
An exciting exhibition of photographs from the second International Garden Photographer of the Year competition is featured in a special outdoor display until 13th July 2010; located in the Lower Garden and in the Cherry Orchard and also in the town of Alnwick.

Why not take some photographs during your visit to the gardens and enter the IGPOTY competition? There are a wide range of competition categories to choose from and a variety of subjects to be found in the beautifully landscaped gardens at Alnwick. Winners receive cash and great prizes and IGPOTY also offers everyone who enters the opportunity to receive a personal critique from the judges on their entries.

The third International Garden Photographer of the Year exhibition is on display at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew until 26th September 2010.
