HARMAN technology Ltd is delighted to announce the winners of the UK Student Competition 2012 entitled “Beauty and the Beast”.

Over 600 entries were received ranging from High Schools to University degree students. The quality of images submitted was such that it was decided to award two additional Highly Commended prizes. Steven Brierley, Director of Sales & Marketing at HARMAN said, “We are delighted with the level of entries this year and particularly pleased with the quality. It's good to see our student competition going from strength to strength”

The judges were clearly impressed by what they saw. Photographer Keith Moss stated, “It was a pleasure to take part in judging this competition and to get an insight into the next generation of up and coming talent”, while HARMAN Technical Service Manager, Neil Hibbs, commented "The images showed great creativity and demonstrated a clear understanding of the brief. The students thought about their entries and delivered exactly what we asked for by providing images that were original and imaginative."

Winner of the Mono Darkroom category is Laura Robinson from Leeds College of Art with her print titled “Emotions”. The Digital Inkjet category was awarded to Southport College student Kieran Rouffignac for his print “Duality“.

Both winners will receive a Certificate and title of either HARMAN technology Student Photographer of the year 2012 (digital) or ILFORD PHOTO Student Photographer of the year 2012 (darkroom). Each will have the opportunity to receive a professionally printed portfolio containing up to10 of their own images, with the winning image printed and framed. Additionally, they will be able to select £150 worth of product from www.harmanexpress.com.
