While I can appreciate black & white photography I'm not one of these people who will shoot nothing else, so a book on black & white still life didn't particularly make me want to look further, especially as the cover is dreadful!
But inside is one of the most inspiring collection of images I've come across in one book with some fantastic explanations to the pictures that have been created. I've always liked the subtle work of John Blakemore and there are four or so examples in here, along with work from recognised names such as John Claridge, Ralph Gibson and Eric Howard.
Terry has used his background as a Journalist for magazines such as Amateur Photographer to obtain info from the photographers that a typical book writer might not manage to find which makes it a treasure trove of tips and techniques.
