The first of a small series of books for digital photographers written by Joe Farace who has 20 books under his belt and has written around 900 articles, so this book promises to deliver, and what better area to start than capturing the image. Its a compact sized book with a quality feel, but the whole book is illustrated with pictures of people, mostly kids so variety is lacking. Not only that but the pictures dont really illustrate the point so theres no point in half of them being there either. The structure of the books takes you quickly through the computer, software and then into resolution followed by digitalcamera advice. Theres a section on scanners, memory cards (out of date) and digital services. I think the book misses the mark in helping people move into digital and those already in the know will feel cheated. There are many more books that do the job better.
