Creative Photography Lab provides 52 fun exercises for developing self-expression with your camera.
Each two page spread is a different exercise for you to have a go at and get your creative juices flowing.
The book starts with a brief introduction on camera settings before we more on to unit one. Each section covers a different element of photography, with section one being all about what and when to shoot. It includes exercises such as shooting in the dark after studying the space for a few minutes, to work your memory and then assess which photos you'd keep, and taking 100 shots to overcome the idea of wasting shots.
Section two looks at exercises in using light in your photos, section three on fellow travellers, section four is all about using yourself in the photos, and the last two sections are all about being arty and creative in your shots, using them to create images including finger painting light trails, recreate famous paintings in photo form plus lots more.
This book provides a fresh spin on what gives inspiration photographically. It is designed to get you thinking more about your photography, and get you out shooting no matter what, encouraging you to explore new subjects and areas of photography you wouldn't otherwise have had a go at.
Each exercise is a step by step task, for which you are given a few starter points, such as flash on or off, and what settings/ equipment you'll need to have a go. Then, step by step instructions are provided with lots of examples and tips to enable you to partake fully.
Overall this book will give you a stepping stone if you are struggling for inspiration or have hit a rut in photography, and will also help those new to photography that want to discover what's out there. It's inspirational, fun and gets you thinking.
