The For Dummies series all have that school text book feel with the lack of images and plenty of black text on offer however, this is something that's easily over-looked when you see the amount of advice crammed into the book.
It's not a book to sit down and read in all one go but is perfect for reading the odd chapter here and there, making notes as you go. If you're looking for some specific pieces of advice then take a look at the book's in-depth table of contents to quickly navigate to your chosen subject.
It's a book that starts right at the basics before working through the more advanced ways of lighting portraits/objects so it's a book that would be useful to most photographers.
The book's easy to understand, simple to follow and not that badly priced.
