This adaptation of the highly successful Earth From The Air book takes the original 170 aerial views and adds a further 195 to create a year of pictures.
The quality is amazing with pictures of every corner of every continent. We are treated to a highly visual feast making us appreciate our world at a higher level. Better still each photograph is accompanied by a description of the area being photographed from above, so as well as being inspired by stunning landscapes we can learn loads at the same time. Find out about topographical, climatical and geological facts as well social and archaeological information - it's an educational delight. My 6 and 10 year olds found it equally fascinating.
The downside is the weight. Although only 25x17cm, it's 6cm thick and weighs nearly 2.5 kilos, as you can imagine it's not a book you can hold up for long.
Apart from that I'd go as far as saying this book is essential for anyone with an interest in the world you wont find a better guide.
