Elements is the program bought by newcomers to digital manipulation and the book it comes with is fine for those, but there's also a large group of photographers who can't justify the cost of Photoshop and buy Elements as the low cost alternative. This book will satisfy their needs but also anyone else with a thirst for knowledge. It goes way beyond the normal greeting card, red eye removal, and simple colour correction techniques and has some excellent descriptions of image problems with remedies such as using the transform tool to correct distorted images, making advanced selections and sorting out contrast using curves. Dull looking in just black & white, but well worth the cash.
