Hot is Thijs' second book, designed and produced in the same style as his successful book Cold. Where Cold took is into the icy climate of the Antarctica, here Hot is a look at life in the Australian outback. The photographs are more people focused, with many environmental portraits mixed in with life, death and decay of the outback. If you liked Cold you will no doubt like this book. Thijs' photography is extremely good, he captures the things you would see and mixes this with the things you'd probably miss. In my eyes the package doesn't have quite the same "wow" factor as Cold. I almost lived the experience with Cold, whereas this book seems cold in the approach. To sum up Hot feels like a quality documentary, whereas Cold felt like a rich experience.
