Light and Lens takes you through an educational photographic journey. The author writes with obvious in depth knowledge about the various aspects of photography with the intention of helping you understand the visualisation of the art rather then just providing a how to book. It touches on history and has a section of thought provoking questions with answers. Every aspect from exposure to printing is covered, and there are some really clear diagrams to help you get your head around topics such as depth-of-field and resolution.
The imagery throughout isn't as pictorial as many guide books but consider this more of a education and it's fine. Throughout the book are exercises in clearly defined yellow panels to get you fired up. One for those who want to be more expressive with photography rather than equipment junkies.
