Although aimed at slightly broader level of reader this book has a similar mission to the QuickStart product ie a guide to Flash 5. It begins by giving a detailed update on new feature with version 5 and then goes logically through the various stages of Flash from learning the tools, to starting off and building a movie, followed by details of how to test the animation and then to optimise it to ensure a faster performance. Advanced users will find the section on scripts worthwhile.
A small point but the paper used is dull compared with the QuickStart book, which makes the graphics look less contrasty and gives an overall lower quality feel. Otherwise no complaints. It tells it as it is and the graphics help you visualise whats being said to speed up the process. Theres even a colour section showing examples of Flash sites and a CD with some QuickTime tutorials. Like many computer books its a bit expensive for what it is 20 would be a fairer price.
