The life of Steve McQueen is already a well documented one but in this book, the author has utilised a variety and extensive collection of photographs to document this tale of the star's life. However, this is not merely a picture book, it's also an easy but fascinating read.
The book divides itself into five chapters, The Pursuit of Speed, The Body as a Tuned Machine, Speed and the Silver Screen, Racing is Life and simply, Garage. What follows is an informative overview of the chapter heading and then a catalogue of documentary photography. The images display a real 'behind the scenes' feel and depicts the essence of Steve McQueen and what made the man tick.
This book is a great relaxing read, for anyone interested in motor sport, film or celebrity lifestyle. Definitely a book that you could revisit again and again and find something new from it each time.
