Tom Ang is a respected photographer and has already written several highly successful photography guides so this one, with it's DK publisher comes already stamped with a proven formula.
It takes a different approach to covering the broader photographic subject by splitting it down into genres, 10 to be precise covering Sports, Travel, Fashion and Nude, Events and Milestones, Architecture, Documentary, Portrait, Landscape, Fine Art and Wildlife and Nature.
Within each category we see the work of two photographers, who are followed on an assignment and unlike usual books you get to see the step by step stages of the assignment so you can gain a clear understanding of how the photographers work in their specialist genre.
On top of this there are tutorial sections, image analysis and assignments to give you a varied exploration into the subjects.
It's well written and beautifully designed and illustrated. Definitely one that will appeal to photographers who already have an understanding of exposure but want to go deeper into any of the above categories.
