The Composition Tutorials by David Noton is the latest eBook by this established and respected photographer.
This eBook is full of beautiful images of David's. The idea is to give photographers a practical guide to composition, using David's own images to draw from as examples. It is set out into different chapters, covering everything from background and foregrounds interest, the rules of composition and selective focus.
Each chapter includes a variety of David's images, and gives lots of examples of the different ways in which that area of composition can be expressed. For example, in the selective focus chapter, several options are looked at; front to back sharpness throughout the frame, foreground sharp with the background out of focus, background sharp with the foreground a blur, and foreground and background blurry, with only middle distance sharp.
For each of these options David gives a detailed explanation as to why and when it might be used, with examples of his own photos for each section. Each image is captioned with all the exposure information and a small word about the picture.
For a complete novice or someone who wants to develop their composition skills but doesn't know where to start, this book will provide quite a comprehensive guide to composing your images, covering all the necessary points plus a few more to get your creative juices flowing.
The composition tutorials is available to buy through David Noton's website for £9.99.
