The New Complete Guide To Digital Photography is an updated version of a hugely successful photography book that tells the amateur photographer everything they need to know about digital photography.
The book begins by looking at hardware, that fundamental part of all photography, the camera. Author Michael Freeman looks at how digital cameras work, before going on to how different lenses affect an image, white balance, and exposure rules. Freeman is very good at using layman’s language, without making it sound patronising and also keeping it professional. You really feel like you are learning something from this book.
Freeman looks at everything, from the types of cameras that are available, to the computers and post production software you can use. There is even a section on printers. Everything is covered in this book that could possibly be used by photographers.
The working digitally section really opens your eyes to the vast amount of things you can do with your camera. From filters to changing colour warmth, and correcting layers to composing properly is covered, giving you the maximum amount of flexibility with your work.
The third section, techniques, gives you Freeman’s wisdom on shooting in a wide variety of situation, from interior shooting to macro shooting, and gives you the necessary tools to experiment with your work and produce great work whilst discovering your own style.
There is really no better guide to photography than Freeman. His easy to follow and well illustrated book is a great guide for the beginner, or any enthusiast looking to better their photography and learn more ways of bettering their work.
