The New Street Photographer's Manifesto is a handy and informative guide to street photography, no matter what camera you may have.

The introduction makes a point that the book can be used by anyone to take great street shots, as it is more about the technique than the equipment. The book also brings your attention to the various safety aspects for street photography, and the importance of knowing cultural norms when travelling to avoid getting into unnecessary scrapes.

Street photography is an ever growing photography genre that can be undertaken by anyone. The book begins with an explanation of what street photography is, and how the mind of the street photographer works. Street photography often happens on a whim, and this means that the street photographer should always be aware and looking for opportunities.

The book then goes into where and what to shoot, from locations to subjects. Taking a different angle on an often photographed subject can be a key goal. Tanya Nagar, a professional photographer that specialises in street photography, understands that this kind of photography involves a lot of watching and waiting, but also striking and taking your photo at the precise moment to capture that brilliant photo.

There is minimal technical information, as this book is more about finding photographic opportunities and setting the scene, but just enough to enable a beginning photographer to be able to get to grips with street photography.

Information is provided about the various types of camera and what is best for different genres of photography, which is handy if you specifically want to shoot portraits on the street, for example.

This is a great all round book, with large sections on post processing and enhancing your images, and a showcase of some of the best street photographers in the world today. It is a very inspirational title that provides useful information and is full of exotic images.
