World Off Track is a compilation of images taken by photographer Jarret Schecter as he travelled the world by train.
All of the images features are taken through a train window, but never fear, there are still some really great and unique images to be seen.
The unique viewpoint of a train window actually allows you to see scenes you may never have gotten to see were you not on a train, and by publishing his images, Jarret shares these unique views with the world.
From slums and suburbs to vast nothingness and industrial heartlands, Jarret sees it all on his travels. What is amazing is the amount of variety you get from the images, from the slightly blurred ones that suggest movement to the perfectly still that you wouldn't immediately know were taken on a train, they're all here.
Every so often Jarret throws in a snippet of information about the railway system that the images depict, with fun facts about their efficiency, and how many people they carry over a period of time, to set the scene for the images.
Overall, this book is an eye opener, and you get to see views of countries, good and bad, which you'd never have seen before. Great to have a browse through.
