Available Light Glamour Photography

Available Light Glamour Photography is a book more about how to light the shots than the models themselves. The book begins with author Joe Farace talking us through why you should use available light. He comes up with three main answers; its cheap, less stressful for the models and fast to set up. It will save you buying loads of expensive studio equipment, which can only be a good thing. Farace explains the different temperatures of light, and the effects they have on a photo,...

Capturing the Image

The first of a small series of books for digital photographers written by Joe Farace who has 20 books under his belt and has written around 900 articles, so this book promises to deliver, and what better area to start than capturing the image. Its a compact sized book with a quality feel, but the whole book is illustrated with pictures of people, mostly kids so variety is lacking. Not only that but the pictures dont really illustrate the point so theres no point in half of them being there eithe...

Pentax K100D/K110D

This book is a slightly larger manual which will teach you all about your camera but not how to take better photographs. The language is simple enough to understand and the font, size of text and layout make the book easy to read. The images and all of the text is black and white which makes the book a little boring and sometimes hard to see. Overall, it's a good reference book it's just a shame about the black and white images.

Posing For Portrait and Glamour Photography

Posing For Glamour And Portrait Photography is all about getting the best out of your models and the camera. It begins by taking us through the basics of posing, and some simple dos and don'ts. If the posing is bad, then it can ruin a photo, says author Joe Farace. He uses before and after shots to show us how shots will look better when correctly posed. Also covered is what can distract from a photo as well as well as add to it, for example use of over bright jewellery can take attentio...

Printing the Image

The second in a small series of books for digital photographers written by Joe Farace who has 20 books under his belt and has written around 900 articles. We didn not like the first book in the series and unfortunately this has many of the same traits - lack of variety of pictures, limited information and occasionally out of date. This has more useful captions with pictures that illustrate the point and some good advice on making a test file but sadly without an illustration, there is also a goo...
