Canon EOS Rebel XTi (Magic Lantern Guide)

This book is a quick reference guide perfect for a photographer looking for a little more detail than their user manual has to offer. A wide variety of topics are covered and the book is written in a clear and concise way. The fact that the book is in black and white and is lacking images is a slight disappointment but, never the less, the information given is still useful and worthy of a look.

Canon EOS-1D Mark III EOS-1Ds Mark III

Magic Lantern guides are a little thicker than the manuals that currently come with a camera, but approach the handling in a different way. The manuals are usually written by photographers who use that particular brand of camera, whereas instruction manuals are often writen by the japanese arm of the manufacturer and translated so often things are not explained well. With this EOS book we hope it's a pro photographer who knows the ins and outs of the market this camera is intended for. The o...

Canon EOS-1D Mark III EOS-1Ds Mark III

This book wont be winning any beauty prizes but the information it has on offer lets it off a little. The book covers a wide selection of topics and is written in a clear and concise way. The lack of colour lets it down a little as the black and white images mean details, such as camera diagrams, are not clear. This is a good reference guide that will help you learn more about your camera but it wont help you improve your technique. If you're looking for a reference guide that's easy ...

Digital Outdoor Photography - 101 Top Tips

Digital outdoor photography – 101 Top Tips is a brilliant read for anyone interested in wildlife photography. It covers everything from lighting the image, to what equipment to take with you in the field. Author and photographer Heather Angel is the perfect guide for this area of photography, having toured most of the world in the pursuit for amazing wildlife and outdoor shot...

Focus: Found Faces

With little writing apart from the odd quirky description from different photographers, this book is a fun flick through and a possible inspiration to budding photographers. This book offers new ideas and gives people something to smile about. With its amusingly bizzare idea of finding faces in everyday places and inamimate objects, 'Found Faces' would make a great gift, and is affordably priced at £6.57

Focus: Passages

As with the [link=http://www.ephotozine.com/book-review/focus--found-faces-400]Focus: Found Faces book[/link], this is a book that takes one topic, which in this case is passages, and decorates every page of the book with them. It's fun to flick through and may give you inspiration to go out and shoot a similar project. It's reasonably priced but it's not a book that everyone will want to read.

Magic Lantern Guides: Nikon D80

What this book lacks in colour it makes up in detail, depth and information. It may look like an exaggerated user manual but it is well written and the information supplied covers a wider variety of topics. The book may not help you take better photographs but it will certainly help you understand your camera more. The book is lacking in images but overall, thanks to the information it has to offer, it's a great book for any Nikon D80 users.

Magic Lantern Guides: Sony Dslr A100

This is a great reference book for someone looking for a little more information than their manual has to offer. It wont teach you how to become a great photographer but it will show you how easy it can be to understand how your camera works. The language used is simple enough to understand and the size of the font makes the book easy to read. It's a shame that the images, like the text, are all in black and white as this makes them boring to look at and sometimes hard to see. If you're...

Nikon D200 (Magic Lantern Guide)

What this book lacks in colour it makes up in words. It may not be the nicest book to look at but it does cover a wide selection of topics in a clear and concise way. It isn't a guide that will help you improve your photography but it will give you a better understanding of your camera. It's a shame the images are black and white but overall, thanks to the simple English and useful descriptions, this is a great reference book for any Nikon D200 users out there.

Pentax K100D/K110D

This book is a slightly larger manual which will teach you all about your camera but not how to take better photographs. The language is simple enough to understand and the font, size of text and layout make the book easy to read. The images and all of the text is black and white which makes the book a little boring and sometimes hard to see. Overall, it's a good reference book it's just a shame about the black and white images.
